Assistant Technical Designer - Denim Bottoms

OVERVIEW:                     The Assistant Technical Designer will assist the Technical Design team with preparing samples from vendors in order to execute the technical fitting process. This position will work closely with members of the Technical Design, Design, Production and Merchandising teams as well as our factories and vendors overseas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

*Measure incoming garments against vendor supplied measurements. *Prepare and track samples and counter samples and make sure approval dates are met. *Assist Technical Designer in technical fittings by preparing samples, taking notes, completing fit lists and booking models. *Maintain tech log and tech packs under the direction of the Technical Designer. *Generate detailed sketch and tech packs.  Communicate to factories in various methods i.e. pattern correction, digital photos, technical sketches, technical notes and garment construction. *Daily communication with overseas and internal partners. *Other responsibilities will vary according to department needs and special projects.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

*1-2 years of technical design experience; internship or full-time *College degree in technical design, fashion design or equivalent experience in related area *Proficient in PC applications including MS Excel *Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator *Knowledge of grade rules and sewing *Basic knowledge of Karat or PLM preferred *Excellent communication and organizational skills *Detail oriented
