The Hive is Humana's in-house agency, a creative collective responsible for content development across all media, enterprise brand identity management for a diverse portfolio of Humana, Inc. brands, and partnering with marketing teams to create compelling brand expression and consumer experiences that enhance brand perception, build trust and influence choice.
The Creative Director is a Lead, Brand Management role who oversees the visual and verbal identity system, develops creative talent, and establishes best practices which increase agency capability and accelerate a transformational path towards a member centric, performance marketing engine for Humana. The Creative Director skillfully translates complex business and marketing objectives into creative strategy, develops and presents concepts and prototypes to align business stakeholders, and directs the final creative development process.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead a growing in-house agency team of art directors, writers, designers, and production specialists to develop visual and verbal brand content and be a part of a
new Agile marketing team model
that includes strategists, analysts, and enterprise subject matter experts who use data driven insights, disciplined testing and experimentation to develop always-on multi-channel experiences which enhance relationships with consumers and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with enterprise teams to develop omni-channel campaigns that include email, web, print and SMS, and create edit, test, and improve content that makes Humana plans easier to understand and use
Collaborate with the marketing Agile team, Scrum Master, and Hive account team to define sprint cycles and outcomes, ensure effective implementation of consumer experience and content strategies, and enable speed to market
Develop Agile concepting and activates Hive SMEs to produce lo-fidelity prototypes which visualize new consumer experiences in print and digital media
Collaborate with partners to deliver persuasive presentations to a diverse set of stakeholders including executives, client teams, and colleagues
Collaborate with Marketing, Hive, and enterprise content development teams to deliver high-fidelity final execution of prototypes
Develop and manage creative content and brand identity systems to increase competitive differentiation for a portfolio of Humana brands
Develop creative strategy and engaging content for highly complex performance marketing communications campaigns
Develop and implements plans, process, and best practices to expand Agile capabilities
Routinely perform creative competitive analysis to inform creative strategy, development of identity assets and member-friendly content to achieve business objectives
Negotiate and implement creative resource plans, ensures resources are aligned with business, budget and schedule priorities, and monitors performance
Liaises with internal departments and external agencies to ensure full communication and success of brand strategy, marketing plans and appropriate use of brand assets
Drive continuous improvement of brand expression to ensure it meets organization objectives and monitors content performance
Ensure effective administration of brands through strategic briefs, Agile workflows and dynamic content management technology
To be successful in this role, you are an inspirational creative leader who fosters a collaborative culture between the agency team, marketing partners, internal content development teams, and external agency partners. You must demonstrate a mastery of brand and design principles, relevant content development experience for performance marketing, and proficiency with Agile methodologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a creative field
An industry competitive portfolio that demonstrates mastery of brand and design principles, and relevant content development experience for performance marketing
Minimum 8 years of experience developing strategic creative concepts in an agency environment
Minimum 2 years of experience leading a creative team
Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Mastery of the creative content development process, from concept through production, across a broad range of media
Proven ability to develop strategic plans, manage agency resources, elevate creative performance, and develop organizational talent
Proficiency in industry standard design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Proficiency with Agile methodologies
Focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications
Humana digital media, business, and brand acumen
Understanding of the unique regulatory and non-regulatory complexities of the healthcare industry
Comfortable leading within complex matrixed organizations
UX/UI experience developing direct to consumer marketing communications across all media
Design Thinking certification and experience facilitating workshops
Experience working with consumer journeys and personas
Active participant in professional marketing/creative industry communities
Additional Information/Requirements
Preferred location for this position is in Louisville, KY or other Humana hub locations in Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA or Dallas, TX. We will consider alternate locations for exceptional candidates, particularly locations that are in proximity of the locations specified
Occasional travel may be required for in person collaboration or execution of deliverables once CDC restrictions are lifted
Covid-19 Vaccine/Testing Requirement
For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.
