Performance Fabrics Advanced Development Engineer
POSITION OVERVIEW
The position will focus on product development. Engineer will report to the Development Manager and will support the overall growth initiatives of the business. The associate will work with the business and manufacturing partners to create and launch new products in our markets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and improve new product development ideas from concept to mass production through the New Product Development process
Collaborate both internally and externally to transfer ideas/concepts into robust products providing customer solutions
Support, evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues
Support improvement opportunities in areas of efficiency, automation, cost reduction, quality and process improvement within the business and with manufacturing partners
Scout new technologies and markets to support long term business growth
QUALIFICATIONS
AutoCAD and designing. Ability to run industrial sowing machines. Strong knowledge of textiles. Ability to to take 2-D designes to create 3-D products. Experience with 3-D printing is preferred.
The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
Experience with gear to include-outdoor, hunting and tactical
Written and oral communication of technical topics
Proactive, self-starter with bias for speed to market
Creative/Innovative problem-solving techniques
Six sigma or similar statistical training
