Responsibilities
We are looking for a User Experience Designer with 5 years of professional experience to join our cross-functional agile product development team. Our internal stakeholders include insurance product, strategy, customer service, care management, home care, digital health & analytics, and IT.
You will work with a team of UI/UX designers, researchers, full-stack-, data-, and DevOps engineers focused on building high-impact, innovative products aimed at improving the benefit quoting experience for our members and associates. The team follows human-centered design approach and agile development practices. We are looking for a candidate who understands technology and is familiar with computer programs in the areas of graphic design, information architecture and interaction design.
This job requires familiarity with methodologies of user research and skills in content development .
The UX Designer is a great communicator and patient when working in teams. They are methodical and able to see the big picture. They can break human behavior patterns into their most logical steps. They are creative professionals but also scientific and organized. They're great at anticipating next steps and can apply their intuition to this role. The User Interface Designer has great attention to detail.
The team is distributed onshore /nearshore team that operates remotely working Eastern Standard Time hours.
Responsibilities
Create user interfaces for products using human centered design practices
Follow user research testing results to iterate designs based on consistent feedback from users, subject matter experts, business partners and peers
Employ design concepts into wireframes, mock-ups and functional prototypes
Design user-friendly experiences across multiple platforms and screen sizes
Ensure consistency with brand guidelines and existing design patterns
Required Qualifications
5 years of professional user interface design experience and/or Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications design, marketing or equivalent experience
Hands-on experience with modern design and image editing tools (Adobe XD, Sketch, Sympli, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Understanding of the balance of colors, textures and interactive elements (such as navigational design components) that make a user-friendly experience
A design portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of human centered design
Portfolio must exhibit a strong understanding of design craft (typography, hierarchy, color, and composition)
Ability to prioritize project requests and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, while keeping track of projects with minimal supervision
Strong initiative, a good sense of humor, and a 'we'll figure it out together' attitude
Understanding of agile principles and how they can be flexibly applied
Outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with user research and usability testing a plus
Experience working on cross-functional/balanced product development teams
Experience with human-centered design approach
Healthcare business experience
Experience working with remote distributed teams
Additional Information
Will report to Lead Software Engineer, IT Digital Channels and Contract Centers
