WSP is currently initiating a search for a creative, highly motivated, collaborative Graphic Designer

for our San Jose, California

project office. The candidate will lead overall graphic design and production layout for a variety of short and long format documents such as reports, procedures, presentations, and other communications collateral including web pages. In collaboration with managerial and technical staff, the candidate will create visual graphics to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate our partners, clients, and the public. This role is an integral member of our project team and will be heavily involved in overall document creation and management.

In addition, this candidate will also provide graphic support to the regional marketing team for a variety of small and large revenue-generating pursuits such as proposals, presentations and other communication collateral. Successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for meeting deadlines and following through on commitments; display proven success working in a fast-paced, multiple deadline environment; demonstrate capabilities to provide informational graphics to convey and support strategic documents and presentations and work with team on storyboarding and content development. Leadership skills are a must in this role, and strong, effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills are required and a strong attention to detail. The candidate must interact professionally with company leadership, marketing staff and a diverse group of planning, engineering and other technical professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create overall visual concept and layout of documents, web pages, and presentations within project document design and brand guidelines

Develop innovative visual aspects that will contribute to engaging documents, web pages, and presentations

Display information as a full package, as well as work on individual graphics to be placed within the communication medium

Provide informational graphics to convey and support strategic documents and presentations and work with team on storyboarding and content development

Translate business and technical information into charts and graphics

Collaborate with large multi-disciplinary teams including project leadership and a diverse group of planning, engineering and other technical professionals

Accountable and responsible for meeting deadlines and following through on commitments with attention to detail

Independent work within a team structure, self-checking, and adherence to a high standard of quality

Work in a fast-paced, multiple deadline environment

Work with a variety of computer software and desktop publishing and presentation programs

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, Graphic Design, or related field

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a service-related business with direct graphic design (layout and creating graphics) experience

Fluency in English

Fluency in software including: Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Acrobat, SharePoint, ArcGIS, Blue Beam

Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong layout design sense, and creativity with the integration of color, typography, photography and illustrative and graphic elements

Strong, effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills

Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products

Preferred Qualifications:

A/E/C industry experience

Experience working with 3D and 4D graphics and visualization programs

Strong working knowledge of four-color printing process and ability to pre-flight, collect files and archive materials
