Interior Design Manager','DRI00009W','!*!JOB SUMMARY   

The Interior Design Manager is responsible for conceptual

development, space planning, site inspections, programming, research, and

communication with the stakeholders through implementation of interior

design.  This position is a part of the decision-making process regarding

the general selection, specification, and purchasing of interiors associated

with day-to-day operations, in consideration of resort aesthetics and adherence

of brand standards.



Maintains a design library and samples

representative of current market trends.  As it pertains to

sourcing materials for projects, researches and confirms product availability

and cost prior to making recommendations.Manages scope and

mitigates project risk.Manages, directs,

and attends design review presentation meetings.Assists with

development and maintenance of Standard Design Criteria for the department.Reviews design

specifications for Architects & Designers for adherence to design criteria

and aesthetic goals of the project.Reviews and

approves purchase orders to ensure conformance with Design Criteria and

aesthetic goals, quantity requirements, and budget.Keeps abreast of

hospitality industry and design innovation trends and uses findings to improve

relevancy and competitiveness of the Company’s brand and product.Manages furniture,

fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) documentation for all prototypes.Maintains and

updates FF&E cost estimates for all pre-approved packages and design

solutions.Maintains and

updates Rules & Regulations and all standards documents.Oversees updates of

all specifications, vendor lists, submittal forms, and brand program

guidelines.Manages FF&E

beta testing projects.Manages

relationships with new and existing vendors including successful onboarding, and

product selection and/or development.Sources and

evaluates potential vendors to expand the qualified vendor base.Maintains familiarity with all aspects of construction

management, including construction technology, law and statues for each state,

health and safety laws, blueprint reading, and proper sequence of events

necessary to take a project from conception, planning, budgeting, through

completion.Maintains a working

knowledge of reserve programs and philosophy,

including an understanding of useful life expectations and value on a variety

of interior and exterior components.Provides exceptional customer service to internal and

external customer.Effectively manages multiple projects, tasks, and

competing priorities.Works productively in a fast paced, heavy growth, and

changing environment.Leads, supervises, and guides construction and design

teams throughout project completion.Completes all required Company trainings and compliance

courses as assigned.Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with

all policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. 


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related




A minimum five (5) years of

experience in the purchasing and design field

required.A minimum one (1) year of supervisory

experience in the purchasing and design field



Provides immediate supervision to

direct reports.  Oversees and controls

the work performance of others in a close working relationship, often in the

same room or close proximity.  A portion

of the time may be spent performing individual tasks similar to those performed

by direct reports.  May participate in

the interview, selection and training processes, as assigned.  May be responsible for assigning work to

direct reports, reviewing results in accordance to policies and procedures, and

providing recommendations to management.

This position

requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written

directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and

office practices.  Must be able to

communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain

effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and

external customers.


Specific skills and

abilities include, but are not limited to the following:


proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and

Project; AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator.Ability

to read, write, and speak English language sufficient to complete forms, review

contracts, read billings and invoices, and communicate with co-workers, senior

management, and suppliers.Ability

to apply strategic management skills to plan and organize workflow; and to

direct, coach, train, and discipline as necessary.Skills

necessary to create material and finishes design boards for use in client

presentations, in timeshare sales presentations, and owner communications.Skills

necessary to create specification books and guidelines for use by operating

departments who will service the units or facilities after a project is

represent the product being sold to prospective buyers.College-level

writing and oral communication skills.Must

be a team player with the ability to understand the importance each position
