The North Face: Color Analyst
As a member of the Quality Assurance (QA) team, the Color Analyst is responsible for day to day color evaluation and final approval of all lab dips across multiple materials for the assigned VF Outdoor Brands. This includes understanding the repercussions of decision making and knowing when to escalate issues to the supervisor or manager in order to meet calendar deadlines. This position will identify color issues and make recommendations for solutions, assuring corporate color standards are achieved by all suppliers and are commercially acceptable for production. The Color Analyst works closely with all teams involved in product sourcing, development, and production, and communicates daily with suppliers to meet requirements in accordance with the product development calendar.
Review, evaluate, and approve lab-dips for color.
Manage and facilitate off-target color approvals with the relevant business partners.
Identify color issues and make recommendations for solutions, assuring corporate color standards are achieved by all suppliers and are commercially acceptable for production.
Own and maintain accurate tracking of lab dips and first-of-production lots in current systems.
Own the communication of color comments & approvals to suppliers and overseas offices.
Create and maintain accurate seasonal color approval books by product category.
Maintain all color submit files, owning file accuracy and history.
Work closely with RD&D and Materials to ensure production deadlines are met.
Monitor mills to ensure adherence to the department’s policies and procedures.
Maintain lightbox and other related equipment.
1-3 years relevant experience at a medium or large-sized company, preferably in apparel.
BA/BS degree in Textiles, Apparel Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Color Science, color evaluation, and/or textile dyeing and finishing experience or training strongly preferred.
International business experience desired, involving tracking and organizing information, and communicating effectively with overseas partners.
Proficient PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PLM/PDM).
Good judgement and analytical skills with aptitude for systematic work.
Our North Face and Jansport offices are currently located in Alameda, CA; Smartwool is located in Steamboat, CO, Eagle Creek is located in Carlsbad, CA and Altra Running is located in Logan, UT. All positions at these brands will ultimately be located in Denver, CO.
