Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/Tool Designer to support the Machining Operations Center (MOC) located within the Orlando, FL Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility. MOC produces ultra-precision machined components that are the foundation of infrared and electro-optical sensor systems used primarily for defense applications.
•Collaborate with engineering, production and other key stakeholders for the conceptualization, design, and fabrication of special tools, holding fixtures, assembly fixtures, and inspection gauges necessary for the manufacture of precision machined components.
•Create detailed tool design drawings, complete with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), utilizing PTC Creo.
•Provide shopfloor support as necessary to resolve tooling, technical and/or manufacturing related issues.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
•(2) yrs tool design experience related to the manufacture of components by multi-axis CNC lathes, CNC mills, mill-turns, EDM’s, and other similar precision equipment.
•Proficiency with the interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
•Strong 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling skills – PTC Creo or equivalent.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
•Adept utilizing Microsoft Office products.
•B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, or equivalent experience/combined education with (7) yrs experience.
•PTC Creo CAD
•Tool & Die making and/or apprenticeship
•Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
•Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications.
