Automotive Designer Jobs description
Automotive designers are primarily responsible for developing the visual appearance or aesthetics, and to some extent the ergonomics, of motor vehicles such as automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, buses, coaches, and vans. At times, they are also involved in the creation of the product concept. Therefore, an art background and a degree in industrial design or transportation design are a must for an automotive designer job.Further, designing vehicular electronic components and parts is perhaps the most challenging aspect of an automotive designer’s job. Hence, automotive designers are required to have the latest information and knowledge associated with emerging vehicular gadgetry such as mobile TV, MP3 players, video playback, and smartphone interfaces.
Some of the must-have computer skills for an automotive designer job include proficiency in 3D modeling, CATIA, Pro E, Solid Edge, and AutoCAD. Excellent project management and teamwork skills are also a must for an automotive engineer.
