Paints freehand or within sketched design, using mixed colors, or applies pure colors, one over another, to produce desired shade, allowing time for drying between applications. May stipple (create designs by dabbing dots on ware). May trace design prior to painting or sketch guidelines for decals and be designated Sketch Liner (pottery & porc.).
