Car Designer Jobs description

A car designer's job requires a great deal of creativity grounded in substantial knowledge of various engineering topics such as 3D volumes, aerodynamics, and model scales. Therefore, a car designer is expected to have a college degree in transportation design at the very least. Knowledge of computer designing software such as AutoCAD and CATIA is also a must for a car designer.

Cars have become fashion statements, and today, even the average car customer wants hi-end technology in his car. Therefore, in order to meet the expectations of technosavvy car customers, a car designer needs to integrate the latest technology into his/her car design. For meeting this purpose, the car designer needs to be well aware of the emerging vehicular gadgetry, particularly GPS navigation, satellite radio, and HD radio.

As cars are not designed by individuals, i.e., they are usually a result of teamwork, car designers need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work in a team environment is an absolute must.
