Piping Designer Jobs description
A piping designer develops and checks system design CAD files or drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices, all weighed critically and against the complexity of the equipment and piping.The duties of a piping designer include: reviewing project specifications, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, and supplier information; performing manual/computer layouts using specifications, standard drawings, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, line list and supplier information; drawing and updating material and stress sketches; communicating and interfacing with other project design and engineering disciplines; completing manual/computer drawings and isometrics; checking, back checking, and correcting manual/computer drawings and isometrics; checking other departments' design drawings and supplier equipment drawings; updating master flow diagrams and location control plan; and reporting progress to the project piping area/unit supervisor.
Piping designers are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills. They should have legible handwriting. They should also be sound at operation analysis.
