CAD Designer Jobs description
Computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) are the two technological advancements which have revolutionized the way manufacturing organizations operate. An electrical CAD designer, or draftsman, may be involved in preparing electrical schematics, loop drawings, panel layouts, mechanical layouts, substations, transformers, panel cut-outs, and assembly drawings, etc. Similarly, a mechanical CAD designer may design complete mechanical enclosures, castings, machine parts, machine tools, hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, compressors, and machined housings.Manufacturing companies which have design departments of their own, where they prepare designs or models for themselves or clients, actively recruit CAD designers. Designers should have a degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, or architectural engineering. Some 3D CAD/CAM modelling or 2D drafting experience may also be helpful. Designers generally make use of AutoCAD, IDEAS, Catia, or Pro-E software for designing, so proficiency with these programs may also be beneficial.
