Design job is a descent work that one must be proud of in holding this profession. It takes a superb talent in arts and creativity in order to produce designed products like some house decorative, crafts, and many others.

The purpose of the wall paintings by cave dwellers in Lascaux, France, made between 15,000 and 13,000 B.C. is unknown, but it marks an example of how early humans integrated the concept of design into their culture. Furniture design job was common by 3000 B.C., when Egyptians, Assyrians, Mesopotamians, and other Mediterranean cultures flourished. By the rise of the Greek empire about twenty five hundred years ago, decorations were a common part of homes, furniture, and clothing. Pottery was painted and shaped to be attractive as well as functional. Mosaics in front of houses in Pompeii, for example, were well designed, depicting dogs on chains, the dogs bore the warning ''Mean Dog'' in Latin.

From the earliest times, people with talents in  careers design were already observed. For instance, building design was a fundamental element of religious structures. The design of these buildings was as important as their function. Cathedrals and temples have been the central focus of most cities for centuries, and their designs were, and still are, considered some of the finest displays of architecture in existence. Stonehenge, located in England, is widely believed to have some religious significance, as well astrological functions to the ancient people who monument to one of the Greek gods.

Likewise, the strides made in architectural design were matched by designs being used on clothes, pottery, windows, furniture, and all sorts of objects used in daily life. Each was open to design and redesign as the styles changed.
Furthermore, some designers who lived in designer careers became well known in their day, and some names are still held in esteem today. Paul Revere, for example, was well known for his role as a patriot in the American Revolution, but he is also highly regarded for the beauty of his designs as a silversmith. Louis Comfort Tiffany, a stained glass designer from the turn of the century, popularized the use of stained glass for lamps, home windows and doors. Often, entire regions became known for their design skills. The glass blowers of Venice were considered the top glassmakers for more than a hundred years during the Middle Ages. Yet, their glassmaking industry is still strong today. The rise of design jobs was not solidified until the great upsurge in advertising about fifty years ago. Before the advent of advertising, most designers worked in their chosen craft, once a market was established for free-lance designers, one could design objects as different as lamps and automobiles. Advertising created a need for artists with an eye for the practical element of the object, and advertising artists had to appreciate the aim of the advertisement as well as the beauty of the design.

Design plays an important role in almost every aspect of our daily lives. The homes we live in, the clothes we wear, the furniture and appliances we use, the newspapers and books we read, all were produce with the input of designers. Designer employment is also everywhere. To understand exactly what design is, it is helpful to take a moment to think about fine arts, engineering, and science. Many universities have a college of Arts and Sciences, and while at first glance arts and sciences may seem to have nothing to do with one another, at their most basic level they are both ways of understanding the world. Artists arrive at understanding by creating images, sometimes beautiful, sometimes disturbing, that help them and other make sense of their lives. They express these images in such art forms as paintings, sculpture, literature, music, and dance. Scientists gain knowledge of the world and life by studying natural phenomena and drawing conclusions from the patterns they observe. Hence, some artists and scientists make careers of discovering these universal principles. The main thing that separates design from fine arts on painting and sculpture is that the designer's freedom of choice is limited. Designers cannot simply create something to please themselves; they must create something that is pleasing but that also serves a purpose.

Likewise, in an interior design jobs, both design and engineering are involve which require a highly organized mental process. Designers and engineers must be able to blend many kinds of information into a coherent set of ideas, which can then be transformed into a product. Generally speaking, design has to do with the creation of objects for which appearance and use are both important, whereas engineering tends to focus on use alone. However, both of them work in one purpose-  producing a better design.
