The job category known as the arts can cover a great many job classes and positions. Most notable are design jobs and music jobs. Both of these are very hard jobs but they are also very rewarding. Although the rewards you get from them are relative to the amount of effort you put into them.

Unlike technical jobs the arts require that you have artistic talent. Whether it's good or not is subject to debate as everyone has a different idea of good taste. But needless to say it is a very hard field to work in and its rewards are not always apparent. Sometimes you will have days where you wish you hadn't taken the job, but this is just a sign that you're on the right track.

Anyone who thinks that just because they are good at painting, drawing, and singing that they will be given a free ride is sadly mistaken. Even the most talented have to work hard to claw their way to the top. This applies to both singing careers and artistic careers. Artistic careers are generally more flexible though.

If you're good with drawing or editing images then you might find your way into the gaming or film industries. These are fields that require people that have good 2D drawing skills and the ability to sketch out ideas rapidly is an invaluable asset.

Music jobs and design jobs are not only some of the hardest to work in, but they also have some of the longest working hours as well. Regardless of if you're a company executive or a low level employee chances are that when it's crunch time you'll be working long into the night.

But it comes with the territory, and if you're like the rest of the people that enjoy these fields then you won't mind the extra hours. Whether you're designing sets, game art, storyboards, or even sketching out performances it all flows through you. In music you literally have to let the words flow through you.

After all if you cannot feel the music you have no purpose being in this field. Chances are though that you wouldn't make it in the field unless you have some talent to begin with. Most people have singing or musical talent but many simply don't develop it. This can be the greatest tragedy of design jobs and music jobs.

So if you have skills in these areas develop them as much as you can. They can lead to a very rewarding career. Its hard work, but being successful in this field cannot only benefit you but it can inspire others. Next time someone tells you that you're doodling won't earn you any money consider the storyboard artists that layout the scenes for movies. Also remember that singing along with your favorite artist all the time can also help you develop your singing voice.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
